Sarah Gish is the founder and owner of Gish Creative and was first featured in a newspaper as a toddler in 1965 and has been in love with media ever since! She started in the marketing and public relations field in 1985, armed with a Bachelor's degree in Art History. Since then, she has helped all kinds of businesses and individuals with marketing strategies and sales programs including independent film companies, authors, restaurants, arts organizations, non-profits, retailers, training schools, movie theatres and radio stations.
After working as City Manager and Publicist for Landmark's River Oaks and Greenway Theatres, Sarah launched Gish Creative in 2000. Through Gish Creative, she has worked on a variety of marketing projects including awareness campaigns, long-term marketing programs, consistent media exposure, graphic design, websites, special events, press tours for celebrities, telemarketing ticket sales and fundraising, book publishing, and more. She has a monthly column about art films called “Gish at the Movies” for 002+ Magazine and is the creator and publisher of an annual guide, The Summer Book®: A Guide to Houston Day Camps and Classes for Kids and Teens. She also created Gish Picks, a weekly guide to cultural activities in and around Houston that is emailed to parents and caregivers and is online and in the Houston Community Newspapers. She has a blog called “Ordinary Mary: Discovering the Sacred Every Day” and she has done freelance writing for Glasstire; Houston Family Magazine; My Table Magazine; Texas Family Magazine; and Texas Meetings and Events Magazine.
Ms. Gish also gives presentations, creates workshops, and does one-on-one consultations on marketing and public relations as well as on issues relating to parenting, cultural activities for families, finding one’s passion (for children and adults), creativity, historic preservation, and activism (see Client Services). She created Save Our Landmarks, which got the city to designate the River Oaks and Alabama Theatre sites and Shopping Centers as city landmarks worthy of preservation.
In 2003, she returned to her educational roots by creating art out of recycled materials. Her art car, the “Artmobile” rolled in the 2004 Art Car Parade, and she has shown her conceptual assemblages at The Art Car Museum, Bering and James Gallery, Caroline Collective, Houston Central Library Art Gallery, DiverseWorks, Lawndale Art Center, Mind Puddles Gallery, and Super Happy Fun Land. Gish Creative works with individuals or companies in achieving their goals through a variety of marketing strategies that have been fine-tuned and proven successful over the years. We promote ideas or products in many ways, since marketing is inexact and not every strategy will work. In fact, no marketing idea is too crazy for us to consider as we know that getting people's attention is the first step towards creating a buzz! The mission of Gish Creative is to give you consistent and continuous marketing advice so that you or your company can strive daily to remain 'top of mind'.
Gish Creative also focuses on encouraging individuals of all ages to follow their heart. This endeavor was inspired by Sarah’s brother, Geoffrey Gish, and has resulted in the “I Can Fly!” philosophy. “I Can Fly!” workshops assist individuals in uncovering their soul’s mission using carefully-researched techniques that combine right- and left-brain thinking. Finding one’s personal mission exponentially increases one’s ability to succeed in life, which in turn leads to a world that functions in a healthier and more peaceful way.
